United Community Ministries (UCM) serves the unmet needs of struggling, low-income families. Committed volunteers, generous donors, and a strong staff have built UCM into a caring source of help and hope. Struggling families need help in moving from fragility to stability, which, lifts up the whole community. By bridging economic, language and cultural divides, people find their commonalities and create their own success.

Rising Hope United Methodist Church

Rising Hope United Methodist Mission Church seeks to bring the "power of Christ" and the "support of the church" to the community living in poverty south of Alexandria, VA along the Route 1 Corridor of Fairfax County. Founded in 1996, we strive to be a faith community that reflects the reality of the Kingdom Jesus proclaimed by welcoming rich and poor alike and being racially and culturally diverse.

Coats for Kids

In the fall and winter, Plymouth Haven conducts a coat drive in coordination with a local youth who leads the effort in the area. Coats of all sizes are collected for distribution to those in need.

Disaster Relief Ministry

Virginia Baptist Mission Board provides relief to those who find themselves victims of disasters in Virginia, the U.S., and around the world. It works in partnership with the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Baptist state conventions, agencies, and other national and international partners to bring relief and hope to those in need.
