We follow the Fairfax County Schools (FCPS) regarding school closings for snow or other emergencies. Please listen to local radio or television reports concerning school delays or closings (Cable Channel 21 and regular news programming). If FCPS closes, PHCP will also be closed. If FCPS opens two hours late, PHCP will not open as a rule. If there is any variation from this schedule, your teachers will contact you by phone that same morning.
It is possible that if FCPS opens two hours late but the foreseeable weather does not present hardship or obvious safety concern for all, PHCP may open at 10:30am. This is contingent on teacher availablity as they also have children who attend FCPS or private schools. In this case you would receive a phone call by 8:45am informing you of the 10:30 opening.
