What an amazing night!
I just got in after spending 2 1/2 hours with 5 of our youth and a Czech girl, sharing the Gospel. There was much shedding of tears with our youth tonight. As a youth pastor, my heart is so glad as I watched their hearts yearn for this girl to know Christ. I have a joy in my heart after seeing these kids do things I never could have imagined. I heard them say things that I never thought would come from their mouths. God has blessed me to be able to be the youth pastor of these kids.
Tonight the Holy Spirit spoke through them, showing a maturity spiritually that is not usually seen in many adults. They didn't just recite some program of sharing the gospel - they shared their lives and how God has been active; how Jesus is the best hing in their lives.
There is so much to say - so much that I cannot even begin. To be quite honest, I can't really even tell you what happened with the other people who were there because I was working with them. I do know that all our youth were sharing their lives with various people and several were giving the Gospel presentation using the 4 spiritual laws and the Evangecube. We even had one of the teachers from the school come to the church tonight! The band did a great job... of course I then scared everyone (or at least the American singers who were with us) by singing a song by myself right before teaching the plan of salvation to the group. But it was a great way to start a talk about the need for a Savior.
This morning, we spent some time in the schools and were invited back by the head of the English department for next year. Dr. Solc and the people from the church have said that it is a miracle they are letting us into the schools. This is God moving! It should not be happening, but it is, by the power of the Holy Spirit, God's providence at work. This afternoon, we weren't able to do the sports because of the rain, but tomorrow we plan for a great time teaching sports.
Of course, today was Christian's birthday. The people at the church made a special cake and gave it to him with 18 candles. Then, Hugh sang a special song to commemorate the moment and the church members sang "Happy Birthday" in Czech.
It's late...it's now 12:04 and the youth who were witnessing with me tonight are still excited about the evening... I'm tired...6:15 am comes really early. Check out the pictures from Czech. By the way, I have a new nickname...the king of bad puns.
In Christ,
Matt
