Hand Chimes & Sword Drills Added to 2007-2008 Program
[January
2008]
Fall music activities of the CiA program focused heavily
on preparing for the Children's Christmas Program. With the coming of
the new year, and the arrival of brand new hand chimes, the CiA program
is branching out on the worship in music area. Hand chimes are specially
designed for children and help teach music concepts including note reading,
beats & measures, and sharing for the flats and sharps.
Restructuring the time slots allowed also for the introduction of Sword
Drills to the CiA program. CiA is using the Bible Skills, Drills & Thrills
for NIV curriculum from Lifeway. In this program, children learn Bible
verses, key passages, the books of the Bible and more. Mini-competitions
are held in groups to reinforce the skills they are learning.
Computer Outreach Activities Added for Grades 4-6
[November 2007]
With the popularity of the Internet and computers, CiA has now added
computer lab to Missions & Outreach activities. Limited to grades 4-6,
children are learning to use PaintShop Pro to illustrate Bible passages.
Activity work will eventually be posted on the Internet as a witness to
others on the World Wide Web. A variety of computer-based activities is
planned as part of the Missions & Outreach program.
